Muma's Big Boy

This boy just keeps getting bigger and bigger and louder and crazier and cuter and lovlier. He's my best little bud, i just love him to pieces. Here's an update on some of his adventures lately.

Of course we start off with the beach, where he spends the majority of his life. He got this little lifejacket for his birthday that we've been using, but it's too big and he kinda slips out of it. So the other day we tried him with some floaties and badabing! He can swim! They're so great, and he now refuses to have any of us hold him in the water.

Malachi has always loved being in the kitchen with me, washing dishes, making food. The other day I let him help me make cookies.

This boy has developed some serious facial expressions, that go up and down like a pregnant woman. He learnt the grumpy ones from his dad.

We took him to the pet shop in the mall to show him some of the animals. He was so cute, telling me to shhhhhhh when he found a puppy that was asleep, saying "hi" and "bye" to all the animals.

He got these PJ's from our friends and they're the coolest, psycadalic PJS ever. When Malachi wears them he gets all excited and stares at them.

His Vocab has boomed and he says almost anything you do. He's started putting two words together now which is good, like "bubbles please" or "more cookie". It makes dealing with him so much easier. There are still a few words he does the sign for, like sorry and thank you.

He still eats like a pig, putting food over every part of his body, his high chair, and anything else he can get his hands on. The other day as part of his mess making, he stuck his hand inside the yoghurt container and it got stuck. That'll teach you... As you can see he eats in the nude because i'm sick of washing all his clothes after every meal.

But we just love this kid. It's crazy to think that he used to be a baby. He runs and dances and moves every minute he's awake. I have never seen another child so alive before. He moves every part of his body any chance he can get. He just loves life. And although he drives me up the wall sometimes, we wouldn't change anything about him..... (except maybe getting him to sleep though the night again).

Love you son!!

A full house

We have had a full house these last two weeks. Tui's mum, sister, brother in law and nephew came to stay. Thank goodness for our 2-bedrooms!! So Malachi came back into our room (we're digressing, i know), we borrowed an airbed and we were set. It was lots of fun having them here.
We spent a day at the bouncy castle place in the Mall. At first Malachi was terrified of the things and spent a good hour riding the little horses, but he got used to it and had a blast.

We went to the beach as much as we could. The weather wasn't always on our side, but we had fun.

Malachi loved being with his cousin. They're a year apart in age but had so much fun playing together.

We ate, alot! One morning we went to the Hukilau cafe.

And we just hung out, did nothing, took pictures of us doing nothing, just relaxed, just like you're supposed to do in Hawaii.

It's been so good to have family visiting. It's so hard being far away from them and we just loved having them here. Come back and visit again soon!!!!

Haunted Lagoon

This month PCC is doing a Haunted Lagoon ride to celebrate Halloween. They set up the PCC with monsters and people that pop out of the water and a bunch of really cool special effects. We rode it this week for Family Home Evening with Tui's sister, nephew, mother, aunty, uncle, 3 cousins, their 2 spouses, their 3 children, and 2 of tui's sister's husband's brother's kids. We had a big bunch. We had to wait in line for about an hour, which wasn't too bad. We filled our time by taking a billion pictures of ourselves.

We took pictures before loading on board.
The babies weren't so keen on the costumes.... if you couldn't already tell by their faces. We thought it was hilarious.... if you couldn't already tell by our faces.

Our group on the canoe.
Funny faces.

The gang.

Malachi was totally chill on the canoe ride, he just waved at the monsters, and even shook hands with one that jumped out of the water and on to the seat next to us. It was so much fun, a little scarey, very funny. I highly reccomend it to anyone living/visiting. It was a blast.

Sleepy boy

Little Malachi, sleeps in the weirdest positions possible.

Some times he kneels or stands on the ground but puts his body on the bed.

Other times he sleeps with his but sticking up in the air and his face squashed on the pillow. If i straighten him out, he bends back up again.

Cute kid.

Back to my roots

Yes, i've gone back to my roots. No, I haven't gone back to NZ, I mean i've gone back to my blonde roots. I'd done the brown thing for long enough and I was ready for a change. It wasn't an easy change. My sister in law can vouche for that, i sat in the hairdressers chair shaking and freaking out because they are one of my biggest fears.

So here it is. My mother in law made myself, my sister in law and our sons matching outfits so we had a little photo shoot.
