Halloween twenty twelve

We held our 2nd annual non-halloween halloween party this past weekend.  It was so cool!!  All the kids looked so awesome in their costumes, they played some games, had fish n chips for dinner, treasure hunted for their treats, and loved being with each other.  I think after everything, that's what they really care about, is just being with their cousins.  I'm sure they would have been just as happy to have no games or treats, just to play (a lesson to be learnt perhaps? I read recently a quote that said "Life is what happens while you're busy making plans".  Hmmmmm.....)  But it was a great night.  Lots of laughs, lots of tears (as always with 10 kids 5 and under), and we can't wait until next year.

This year Malachi was a Policeman.

And Lani was our 3rd generation cow. (With the addition of a bow to make her a she-cow).

It seems like a lifetime ago that Malachi wore this at his first Halloween in Hawaii.

We had quite an assortment of costumes this year.  There were a few frogs, a princess bunny, a lady bug, and a cowboy to name a few.  Before we left for the party Malachi said "I'm a policeman, Vili's a fireman, but who's gunna be the doctor in the ambulane?"  Well.  Little did we know there would be a nurse and a doctor there too!! We were going for the whole emergency services theme.  I meant to get a picture of them all together.  Never happened.
